Profit from horse racing by knowing the stats that matter (HRB part 3)

In the last two articles we have looked at the two key features of HRB, however it has far more to offer than that, so in this weeks article we will take a look at the other features that you may find helpful in you quest to find winners.

STAT ATTACK

This feature allows you to look at the last two years data – you can either do this by

  • Horses
  • Jockeys
  • Trainers
  • Stallions

You can then break this down by win or place stats, minimum runs/wins/places, minimum and maximum strike rate, minimum and maximum odds. You can either look at the full days racing or individual races.

I find this option useful in looking for current stats that are bang up to date

STAT ATTACK EXTRA

This is one of the most useful tools for the days racing (a must for the statistician)

It is a tool that allows you to query the performance factors of all the horses running that day it breaks it down by the following

  • Career runs
  • Track Runs
  • Going
  • Distance
  • Jockey
  • Direction of Track
  • Trainer
  • Handicap and Non Handicap
  • Track/Distance
  • Class

For each one of these preferences you can set the number of runs, wins and places.  It will then show you all the horses that fall under the criteria you have set in the following format (see example below)

Stall Analyser

This is a new addition and allows you to study the true effect of the draw and really see if there is any bias at each track.

You can set stall positioning which can alter the bias significantly as well going, age, race type, distance.  You can look at the report by stall alignment or by stall number. You can then set your report to show – number of wins, win strike rate or profit or loss.

Daily Reports

There re two reports (trainer and jockey) that show the their wins in the last 14 days, last two years and 7 day form figures – very handy in showing who is in and out of form.

Major Races

This area allows you to look at the result history (since 1997) of the major races – usually Listed races and above.  For those of you who like to follow trends this is the tool for you.

The future of HRB

Currently the team are working on more help files to ensure new users get the best from this fantastic product.

The System Builder will be upgraded again and all the interfaces will be made easy to use.

This week has seen the addition of a horse notes section, allowing the user to store their own comments.

I will leave the last word to Chris Bagnall from HRB

“The beauty of HorseRaceBase comes in the way it has been designed, based on the concept of continual improvement, step-by-step, working together with our members. Because it is a member-inspired website, all the tools directly or indirectly are created on the back of a suggestion from a user.

Every single suggestion, question or idea received is logged and wherever possible acted upon. At this precise moment we have many ongoing projects, which will over time lead to the implementation of upgrades, new tools being launched and content created. If we dont have the data, we get it. If the coding seems impossible we do not rest until a solution is found. Some things take time to get just right, but as each month passes more progress is made and our promise is to always include EVERYTHING as part of the monthly donation.”

HRB is a donation based site with the minimum donation been 7.50 euros per month, this minimum amount gives you access to all areas of the site, there are no hidden charges or upgrades to pay for.

Take a look and see for yourselves – at the moment you can gain access to the site – www.horseracebase.comFREE for 3 days and if you then feel that the site is for you – I have negotiated a deal with HRB offering readers two months for the price of one (all you have to do is enter the promotional code – TRENDY)
