Assess the strength of your opinion

This can be difficult to quantify in real terms, and any opinion about a horses chances of winning or losing is subjective to each assessor. You have to ask which approach will not only teach you more about racing/form reading, but also give help you build confidence in your opinion. Anything that helps you to gain a better insight into where your strengths lie is definitely worth the extra effort.

Having said that there is always going to be races that you just can’t seem to fathom out accurately. Instead of trying to rationalize and get to the bottom of these races, focus your efforts on races you have had success in before. You may find that after asessing your results  most of the losers  come from > All Weather racing, at a certain distance or in a particular field size. Therefore its wise to eliminate those kinds of bets and see if that improves your profit and loss figures. Its a little known fact that in order to focus your attention effectively you should stick to one code of racing, be it flat or Jumps, depending on the time of year.

The reality is anyone who thinks they can make regular profits from betting on all three race codes in our opinion is spreading them selves far to thin. Furthermore we would go as far as to say this could probably be one of the key factors why so many commercially available lay systems seem to perform so badly. The one size fits all approach they take will never work because it is far too diluted.

You stand a far greater chance of making your betting pay using a professional system/method that focuses on a specific type of racing at a particular time of year.

Those players who feel the need to bet in every race are simply throwing their cash down the toilet. Ultimately these guys are so greedy for action they can’t tell the difference between good or bad bets. Their judgement is rushed and extremely poor, because their overall approach is so diluted. Basically it’s never going to be effective.

Bet what YOU know about!

One of the most important lessons you can learn is bet what we know about. Previous experience gained predicting an outcome is invaluable because it will  give you maximum confidence inyour decision making, which means you won’t hesitate when the right opportunities arise. Less is definitely more.
