Those at the top of the weights have a decent record, top weight to 6lb lower have won 7/13 from 27 runners compared to 6 winners from 161 runners from the rest.  In fact better still the top 4 in the weight have won 10/13 races, the top 6 in the weights have won 12/13

LAST RACE

13/13 ran over at least 3 miles

12/13 ran within the last 30 days

3 winners last raced in Ireland from just 10 runners

OTHER FACTORS

13/13 had won at least 1 chase race

12/13 had come in the 1st two in at least 1 of their last 3 runs

SUMMARY

Concentrate on those towards the top of the weights that ran over at least 3 miles within the last 30 days last time out.

Paul Nicholls just the once from 19 runners with another 4 placed

WEIGHT/OR

16/16 rated 154 or less

LAST RACE

5 winners last raced at Cheltenham from 37 runners with another 8 placed

4 winners last raced at Kempton from 25 runners with another 7 placed

10/16 won

OTHER FACTORS
16/16 had finished in the first 3 in at least 1 of their last 3 runs

15/16 had won at least 2 chase races

14/16 had run 2 or 3 times in the last 90 days

SUMMARY

We should be looking for a horse priced 12/1 or less, that is rated 154 or below, that has finished in the first 3 in at least 1 of their last 3 runs and has preferably won at least 2 chase races and run 2 or 3 times in the last 90 days.  Also pay particular attention to Philip Hobbs runners.
