TV raced trends for Saturday 30.3.2013

1:55 DONCASTER William Hill Spring Mile (Handicap) Cl2 1m CH4

SPRING MILE

ODDS

All over the place

FAVOURITES

Just the 2 winning favs for a loss of -£3.00

TRAINER

Dandy Nicholls has had 23 runners with no winners

Richard Fahey has had 16 runners providing 2 winners and another 5 placed

AGE

16/16 aged 4 to 6 (there have been 68 runners aged 7 or over and only 6 have placed)

LAST RACE

14 winners last raced in either a Class 3,4 or 5 race (100 runners came from either a Class 1 or 2 race and only 1 won)

Only 1 winner came from a Non handicap from 51 runners

OTHER FACTORS

12 winners had finished in the first 2 in at least one of their last 3 starts

SUMMARY

Start with the age, only 4 to 6 year olds need apply.  Avoid horses that ran in a Class 1 or 2 race last time out and choose one that has preferably been in the first 2 in at least 1 of its last 3 races.  You will still probably left with quite a few runners but this race does provide big priced winners but Fahey runners are worth a look for EW purposes in the LINCOLN

3:05 DONCASTER William Hill Lincoln (Heritage Handicap) Cl2 1m CH4

ODDS

No winner priced 50/1 or more from 57 runners

FAVOURITES

Surprisingly for such a competitive race, favourites have a very good record with 6 wins for a profit of £15.33

TRAINER

Dandy Nicholls has had 23 runners and not one has placed

William Haggas has had 5 runners providing 2 winners and another placed

LAST RACE

96 runners came from a non handicap and only 1 won

10/16 either won or were beaten less than 3 lengths

OTHER FACTORS

11/16 had won at least 1 of their last 3 races

SUMMARY

William Haggas has had good recent success and has Nine Realms currently vying for favouritism but he ran in a non handicap last time so that would put me off

2:20 KEMPTON 6 Places Eachway Grand National At BetVictor Magnolia Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 1m2f CH4

MAGNOLIA STAKES

ODDS

16/16 priced 12/1 or less

13/16 priced 4/1 or less

FAVOURITES
9 winning favourites for a profit of +£6.81

TRAINER

John Gosden has had 3 winners from 5 runners with another 1 placed

William Haggas has had 2 wins from 4 runners with another 1 placed

LAST RACE

11/16 last raced on the flat

8/16 were favourites last time from just 15 runners providing a profit of 22.75, compared to a loss of -£67.08 for those that were not

13 winners last raced in a non handicap race

3 Winners came from a Group 1 or 2 from just 6 runners

OTHER FACTORS
15/16 had either run once or not at all in the last 90 days and all had a break of at least 25 days

SUMMARY

A good race for horses priced under 4/1 so that is the place to start.  If they started favourite last time ut and were trained by John Gosden or William Haggas all the better.  Also pay attention to horses that ran in a Group 1 or 2 race last time out.  Simply by applying 2 factors

1)      Horses priced 4/1 or less and

2)      Favourite, jt or co fav Last time out

Gives you just 7 runners and 6 won for a profit of

2:55 KEMPTON BetVictor.com Rosebery Handicap (London Middle Distance Qualifier) Cl2 1m3fCH4

ROSEBERRY HANDICAP

ODDS
Various but 14/16 priced between 13/2 & 20/1

Just one winner priced 6/1 or less from 19 runners

FAVOURITES

Just the 1 winning favourite for a loss of -£12.50

TRAINER
Richard Hannon has had 11 runners and had just the one placed

AGE
14/16 aged 4 or 5

WEIGHT/OR

12/16 were either top rated or within 10 of the top

16/16 rated 81 or higher

LAST RACE
26 runners last raced at Wolverhampton and none have won

22 runners started their last race at odds of 9/4 or less and all have been beaten, 8 did place though

Just 4 winners came from a Class 1 race but it represents the highest Strike rate as this was from 33 runners, compared to 5/109 for Class 2, 3/66 for Class 3, 3/47 for Class 4, 0/5 for Class 5

OTHER FACTORS

0 winners had raced 4 or more times in the last 90 days

14/16 had between 2 to 4 career wins

SUMMARY

A tough race to solve and not too many positive stats so perhaps best to work backwards using the negative ones of those that ran at Wolverhampton or started 9/4 or less last time out or ran 4 or more times in the last 90 days.  My next preference would be at looking at those with 2-4 career wins and then take it from there, paying particular attention to those that ran in a Class 1 race last time out

3:50 HAYDOCK BetVictor Grand National 6 Places Handicap Chase (Jockey Club Grassroots Chase Series Final) Cl2 2m6f CH4

Please note: this race now takes place at Haydock not Newbury, as it was originally set to run LAST WEEK

FAVOURTIES

6 winning favs for a profit of £5.58

TRAINERS
Nicky Henderson has had 9 runners and has had no winners though 2 have placed

AGE

14/14 aged 5 to 8

WEIGHT/OR

12/14 rated 11lbs or more lower than the highest rated

LAST RACE

13/14 were price 6/1 or less

14/14 ran on a Class 3 or 4, though beware only 13 runners did not

13/14 ran over a distance between 2m 3 1/2f to 2m 6f

Those that ran over hurdles Last time have a good record with 3 winners from 15 runners

11/14 finished in the 1st two or fell

OTHER FACTORS
12/14 had won at least one chase race

SUMMARY

We are looking for a horse aged 5 to 8, that has won at least 1 chase race, that in its last race was priced 6/1 or less, ran over a distance of between 2m 3f to 2m 6f and finished in the first 2 or fell, over  the years that would give you 9 winners and profit of £19.63 to a £1 stake.
