OTHER FACTORS

14/14 had won at least one of their last 3 races

10/14 had won at the distance before

SUMMARY

Look for a runner priced 8/1 or less who was also 8/1 or less on their last run and has won at least 1 of their last 3 runs.  Look closely at Saeed Bin Surror runners

3:00

DON Ladbrokes Portland (Handicap) Cl2 5f140y CH4

PORTLAND HANDICAP

ODDS

14/14 priced at 20/1 or less

FAVOURITES

3 winning favourites for a small loss of -£0.50

TRAINERS

32 runners came from a listed or group race and all have lost with only 4 placed

OTHER FACTORS

No winners have come from horses drawn in stalls 1 to 4

SUMMARY

A wide open race as would be expected with not much to go on to narrow it down to be honest but concentrate on those with a recent run (11-30 days ago) and look closely at runners that ran at Ripon last time out.

3:40

DON Ladbrokes St Leger Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) (Entire Colts & Fillies) Cl1 1m6f132y CH4

ST LEGER
ODDS

14/14 priced at 20/1 or less but 9/14 were priced at 4/1 or less

FAVOURITES

Have a good record with 8/14 winning to give a profit of +£7.67

TRAINERS

Several with decent records in this race:-

John Gosden has won the race 3 times from 5 runners

Saeed Bin Suroor has won the race 3 times from 8 runners with another 1 placed

Aiden O’Brien has won the race 3 times from 28 runners with another 4 placed

LAST RACE

14/14 ran over a distance of 1m 4f or 1m 5f, 40 runners raced over further and none have won

14/14 ran in a group race, with only 1 of those coming from a group 1 race

14/14 finished in the 1st three with all winners either winning the race or being beaten by less than 5 lengths

7 winners last raced at York from 57 runners with a further 16 placed

5 winners last raced at Goodwood from 25 runners with a further 2 placed

All 13 runners that last raced in a Handicap have been beaten

OTHER FACTORS

14/14 had finished in the first 2 in at least 1 of their last 3 races

14/14 had run between 1-3 times in the last 90 days

SUMMARY

Some pretty strong trends here, Camelot will be a strong favourite to win this and although favourites have a good record in this race he will make the market for possibly a nice each way wager, especially considering horses coming from a Group 1 races do not have the best of records with only 1 winner from 19 runners.

We should be looking for a horse whose last run was over  1m4f to 1m 5f, that preferably ran at Goodwood or York last time and finished in the first 3 in a group 2 or 3 race.  Also look closely at any John Gosden or Godolphin runners
